Book Introduction:
Marxist ideology is the only fully scientific ideology, the only one able to guide mankind towards the settlement of the fundamental social problems and to point out the royal road for the proletariat to take in its march toward socialism and communism. Without Marxism, modern people cannot establish true social ideals, nor can they engage in the rational pursuit of values. Without Marxism, modern people cannot choose the correct path of development, nor can they build up new forms of civilizations. Without Marxism, modern people will never base their commitments to schedule the consensus building effort and to support the consensus building process on any irrefutably and sufficiently sound theoretical foundations. Only if we have obtained a deeper understanding of Marxian ideas, have achieved a firm grasp of Marxist theory, and have placed Marx’s relationship with us in the clearest light, can we have a solid grasp of the laws governing the development of human history and have a deeper knowledge of our times. Only in this way can we more earnestly, more conscientiously, and more fully display the strength of the truth of Marxism. Only in this way can we hold aloft the great banner of socialism with Chinese characteristics, integrate the universal truth of Marxism with the great practice of socialism with Chinese characteristics, devote ourselves heart and soul to the great cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics, vigorously and steadfastly forge ahead along the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and strive with endless energy for the great success of socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era!
